Register Now for the 2023 Routing Security Summit

Mountain range with setting sun in background with words Routing Security Summit in foreground

Join us from 17 to 20 July for a series of virtual tutorials and panel discussions as we highlight the importance of routing security and encourage decision-makers and network operators to take real steps toward improving the security and resilience of the global routing infrastructure.

We are bringing together partners from across the Internet routing ecosystem to answer your questions about routing security and the MANRS initiative, discuss successes with implementing routing security measures such as Resource Public Key Infrastructure (RPKI), and share ideas on how to build awareness about routing security among not just the technical community but the wider Internet community.

The event will take place via Zoom and be live-streamed and recorded for later viewing.

Registration is now open for tutorials and sessions. More sessions will be added shortly.

Tutorials

Routing Security 101

Monday, 17 July 10:00-11:00 UTC

This tutorial will introduce what the global Internet routing system is, why it’s important to secure it, and how to protect it by adopting best current practices and joining like-minded networks as MANRS participants.

Learning Your MANRS

Tuesday, 18 July 11:30-12:30 UTC

In this tutorial we’ll discuss the MANRS history and program objectives, including the four simple but concrete actions that MANRS participants work towards implementing that eliminate common routing issues and attacks, and provide a bridge to universal adoption and decrease the likelihood of future incidents.

Note: This tutorial is the introductory session for the Internet Society MANRS Course, which is happening from 17 July to 11 August. Learn more about the course and enroll in the current intake.

Trainer: Zobair Khan

Making the MANRS Observatory Work for You

Wednesday, 19 July 7:00-8:00 UTC

In this tutorial, you’ll get a behind-the-scenes look at what features are available to MANRS participants, including the routing security details for all ASes and the MANRS API, and what you can interpret from them for your own reporting and validation.

Trainer: Aftab Siddiqui

Sessions

Routing Security as Supply Chain Security: Threats and Opportunities

Tuesday, 18 July 13:00-14:30 UTC

In this panel session, we will bring together the perspectives of enterprises, the public sector, connectivity and CDN/Cloud providers regarding routing security. The panelists will discuss effective strategies for managing risks in the organization’s connectivity supply chain.
