Candidate Statement

As the Director of a wholesale Internet Service Provider that operates in South Africa, I’m really passionate about making the internet safer and more reliable. But it’s more than just a passion for me – I’m deeply involved in the technical side of things too. I even mentor others on Cisco technologies! Here’s why I’d love to join the MANRS Steering Committee:

  • I bring a unique blend of skills. My background in Agile methods, combined with my hands-on engineering experience and Cisco mentorship, gives me a well-rounded perspective. I can help MANRS become even more efficient and adaptable by applying Agile principles to strengthen our security measures against evolving online threats.
  • I understand both the tech and the business side. In my work, I see how important routing security is from all angles – keeping things running smoothly, protecting businesses, and ensuring the technical integrity of our systems. This means I can help make sure MANRS actions are rock-solid technically and something companies can actually put into practice.
  • I’m a big believer in teamwork. Agile is all about working together and always finding ways to improve. That fits perfectly with how MANRS already works, and I’m excited to contribute to the community and learn from everyone.
  • I know how to move quickly. In the cybersecurity world, things change fast! My experience leading Agile teams, coupled with my technical knowledge, means I can help MANRS develop actions and standards that can keep pace.
  • I’m truly passionate about internet security. I believe that securing our internet infrastructure is essential for the future, and I want to be a part of shaping those global standards with MANRS.

I’m confident that my passion for internet security, my technical expertise, and my understanding of both technology and business would make me a valuable asset to the team.

Biography

I’m the CEO and Founder of Agile Solutions Provider, a company I started in 2019 with a simple mission: to make the internet more accessible and secure for everyone. My passion lies in developing the internet ecosystem, particularly in Africa, where we work as a Tier 1 IP Transit aggregator to help local and regional service providers connect and grow.

My journey in networking started about a decade ago, providing technical support across multiple continents. This early experience showed me how the internet connects people and businesses across borders, but also highlighted the challenges many providers face in delivering reliable service. Over the years, I’ve worked my way through various technical roles – from network support to design engineering, and finally to building my own company.

What I love most about my work is seeing how the right infrastructure can transform a service provider’s ability to serve their community. At Agile, we focus on building relationships and understanding each provider’s unique needs, whether they’re a small WISP serving a local community or a cloud provider reaching across regions.

The internet’s incredible growth comes with increasing security challenges, especially in routing infrastructure. Having spent years working hands-on with BGP, IPv4/IPv6, and MPLS technologies, I understand the critical importance of routing security in maintaining a stable and reliable internet. I believe that by working together and sharing knowledge, we can build a more resilient internet ecosystem that serves everyone.

Peering Latam

Candidate Statement

I want to help all ASN operators understand that they are directly responsible for the routing security of the Internet. And most importantly, that in this scope their own security actions have more direct effect on the security of other ASNs than their own, which indirectly leads to the conclusion that the routing security of their own ASN depends more on the awareness and actions of other ASNs than on their own. Even if for it I would need to be the bearer of the message that some do not like to hear.

Biography

I am a Control and Automation Engineer. I have worked in the telecommunications networks area since 1999. I worked as a pre-sales and implementation engineer in technology integrators. I am a consultant in the area of networks and servers in the corporate segment and Internet providers. I am a solutions architect for Internet Service Providers, Transit Providers and Operators. I am a productive troublemaker in my spare time.
