MANRS Observatory Data Sources
I-ROV Filtering Rate (APNIC)
Data from the APNIC Labs’ measurement system for the validators. It provides a detailed view of where invalid routes were being propagated, and a longitudinal view of how things are changing over time.
Spoofer (CAIDA)
The Spoofer project operated by CAIDA collects data on the deployment and characteristics of IP source address validation on the Internet. Data from the project comes from participants who install an active probing client that runs in the background. The system measures different types of forged addresses, including private and neighboring addresses. GRIP
CIDR Report (APNIC)
CIDR Report is a daily report provided by APNIC on changes and trends in the Internet routing as seen from several vantage points (APNIC R&D network and RouteViews). Apart from the summary, it provides data on how well networks aggregate announced prefixes, a weekly summary of changes in terms of withdrawn and added routes and added ASes, and a list of advertisements of address blocks and Autonomous System numbers where there is no matching allocation data – a so-called bogon report.
GRIP (Internet Intelligence Lab at Georgia Institute of Technology)
The GRIP project at Georgia Institute of Technology detects and classifies BGP incidents and through its API provides them to the MANRS Observatory. These include misconfigurations, exact and sub-prefix misoriginations, as well as AS path manipulation attacks and misconfigurations.
NRO Stats (Number Resource Organization)
NRO Extended Allocation and Assignment Reports are produced as part of a joint Regional Internet Registry (RIR) project to provide consistent and accessible Internet number resource statistics to the global Internet community to facilitate research on and analysis of the global use of Internet number resources. The reports contain a daily updated report of the distribution of Internet number resources:Pv4 address ranges, IPv6 address ranges and Autonomous System Numbers (ASNs).
PeeringDB
PeeringDB is a freely available, user-maintained, database of networks, and the go-to location for interconnection data.
RIPEStat (RIPE NCC)
RIPEstat is a large-scale information service and the open data platform of the RIPE NCC. Get essential information on IP address space and Autonomous System Numbers (ASNs) along with related statistics on specific hostnames and countries.
